Basic Function:

This individual will be involved in all aspects of warehouse operation. Primary duties will include: picking, shipping, staging, receiving, freight processing, inventory control, and general warehouse cleanliness.

Essential Functions:
  • Order Selection and Shipping:
    • Operates forklift, reach truck, or order picker to pick product orders (majority).
    • Operates cart or pallet jack to pick product orders (minority)
    • Picks product for salesperson needs and assists with truck/trailer loading.
    • Picks orders from designated locations as required per pick lists. Ensures all product picked matches pick list.
    • Safely and efficiently organizes products into appropriate container and location for shipping process.
    • Efficiently and thoroughly packs products to minimize damage.
    • Prepares both company required shipping documentation per order and carrier manifests before product leaves premises, (i.e. Fed Ex, Spee Dee, Truck and end of day postings).
    • Perform ship Sales Order functions and shipment tracking.
  • Inventory Control and Receiving:
    • Loads/unloads freight from outbound/inbound carriers
    • Alerts management of inventory discrepancies. Takes action to locate inventory and/or correct system.
    • Performs cycle counts on a scheduled basis, records results and makes placement adjustments as necessary.
    • Receives inbound product, makes labels and puts away in appropriate location.
    • Controls demo product movement from warehouse.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems and related information necessary for effective management.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized. Actively participates in general warehouse cleaning and organization.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with personnel in other departments to ensure the proper coordination of inventory and orders.
  • Performs related work as apparent or assigned.
  • Attends training as directed by GNE
Secondary Functions:
  • Customer Service:
    • Assists Will Call customers with product loading (according to warehouse policy).
  • Facilities – Assists with general facilities tasks and repairs.
  • Assists with equipment upkeep, battery watering, and charging.
  • Assists with inventory replenishment.
  • Assists with customer returns.
Qualifications and

Experience:

Required
  • At least 1 year of previous forklift experience. Current ability to operate forklift and reach truck.
  • Computer skills – including navigation of ERP, use of Microsoft Suite including Outlook and Excel.
  • Speak, write, and read English.
Preferred
  • High School education or equivalent – strongly preferred
  • Experience with RF scanners.
  • Experience with small package freight and/or LTL
