Position Summary

The HR Manager, Total Rewards manages the coordination of all Team Member engagement initiatives, plans and executes all Team Member events and activities, manages recognition programs, and coordinates all ancillary activities. The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing all benefit and leave processes while ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements. Proactively administers all aspects of the company benefits plan, managing the administration of all leaves of absence, and auditing all benefit and leave programs to ensure continual compliance.

In addition, responsibilities include working with the HRIS Manager to liaison between carriers, system administrators, and the benefits team to execute benefit programs and resolve any benefit related coverage challenges. The HR Manager must also provide consistent service to all internal and external Guests, focusing on accuracy, efficiency, effectiveness, and guest service.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for redefining hospitality at Graton Resort & Casino while living, supporting, and promoting our values.
  • Actively engage and develop the benefits & engagement team.
  • Provide oversight and support that includes all training, process evaluation/audit, and oversight of daily activities.
  • In cooperation with HRIS Manager, administer all Team Member benefit programs – group medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, long term disability, 401(k), COBRA, Flexible Spending Accounts, and voluntary benefits.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all enrollments into benefit programs by newly eligible Team Members and processing all eligible life events.
  • Conduct monthly audits of the 401(k) program and hardship withdrawals to ensure compliance and communicate requirements to Team Members.
  • Provide benefit counseling and resolve individual benefit/claim issues through liaison activities with carriers, benefits consultants and/or legal counsel.
  • Work directly with carriers and system administrators on eligibility, reconciliation, benefit/claim problems, appeals, publications, etc.
  • Process Court Orders for benefit coverage, death and beneficiary claims with Unum and ADP.
  • Manage the Leave Administrators to ensure leaves are processed in accordance with applicable federal and state policies and Graton’s policies.
  • Counsel and coordinate with management and payroll on all leave processes and with the Communications Manager on the annual enrollment communication plan.
  • Plan, organize and coordinate with HRIS Manager and ADP to execute open enrollment annually.
  • Continuously evolve benefit and leave processes to become more streamlined and innovative.
  • Create and manage the annual calendar of Team Member events, collaborating with Sales & Catering for onsite events.
  • Manage and execute Banquets and Special Events, all Team Member events, including monthly or quarterly events, seasonal events, and Annual Wellness Fairs.
  • Identify and coordinate community outreach collaborations to engage Team Members in the community.
  • Collaborate with the PR department on community events and initiatives.
  • Manage and audit all ongoing, monthly, and quarterly Team Member recognition programs:
    Graton Achievers;
    Leadership Excellence;
    Living Our Values; 5 and 10-Year Anniversaries.
  • Annually evaluate and adjust recognition programs as needed.
  • Manage all contests, clubs, raffles, and reward giveaway programs on topics related to culture building, training/education, and wellness.
