Job Summary

The Family Practice with Obstetrics (FPOB) Physician provides comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, with a special emphasis on prenatal, perinatal, and postpartum care. This physician offers full-spectrum family medicine—including preventive, acute, and chronic care management—while also delivering obstetric services, including labor, delivery, and newborn care. The role ensures continuity of care for individuals and families across generations and life stages.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide full-spectrum family medicine, including wellness exams, management of chronic diseases, urgent care, and minor procedures.
  • Deliver obstetric care, including prenatal visits, labor management, vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections (if credentialed), and postpartum follow-up.
  • Care for newborns and provide pediatric services as part of family-centered care.
  • Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, midwives, and specialists.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, care team huddles, and patient-centered medical home (PCMH) activities.
  • Educate patients and families on health promotion, disease prevention, and prenatal/postpartum health.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Participate in community outreach, call rotations, and after-hours coverage as needed.
  • Will participate in the hospital's call schedule for labor and deliveries including after hours and weekend hours.
Qualifications
  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program.
  • Additional training or demonstrated competency in Obstetrics.
  • Current, unrestricted state medical license.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Family Medicine.
  • Must be eligible for hospital privileges.
  • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NRP, and ALSO (Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics) preferred.
