Job Description
- Experience in developing and leading interdisciplinary research programs that integrate AI, IoT, and data-driven decision systems for smart and sustainable crop production
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and manage competitive federal grants (e.g., NSF, USDA, NIFA) involving applied AI, digital agriculture, and technology commercialization
- Strong record of peer-reviewed publications in applied machine learning and digital agriculture, showing capacity for both methodological and translational impact
- Proven capability to connect computer science, agronomy, and business thinking to translate research prototypes into field-ready solutions and pilot deployments
- Experience supervising and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students while coordinating multi-institutional, multi-stakeholder collaborations
- Familiarity with data privacy, intellectual property management, and research compliance for joint academic-industry projects, including invention disclosures and tech-transfer pathways
- Strategic leadership skills to align scientific objectives with industrial partnerships, project milestones, and global agricultural sustainability goals
- Ability to communicate complex technical findings to non-technical audiences, including growers, cooperatives, corporate partners, and investors, to foster adoption and collaboration

College of Engineering & Computing (CEC):
Missouri S&T's College of Engineering and Computing is the largest of three colleges at S&T, accounting for approximately 80% of the total enrollment (about 4,500 undergraduates and 800 graduate students). The college includes more than 170 ranked faculty members who serve in 16 undergraduate programs, all with master's and doctoral equivalents organized into nine academic departments. The college recently added a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering and a Ph.D. in bioengineering, both starting in fall 2024.
