Cub Creek Science Camp is a residential summer camp for children ages 7–17, located in Rolla, Missouri. Each summer, we serve approximately 240 campers per session with a seasonal staff of about 100 team members. With over 300 animals in our hands‑on zoo and over 100 activities, we are not your average summer camp. We are dedicated to providing our staff and campers from all over the world an unforgettable and unique summer camp experience, but above all else, we strive to help our campers gain self‑confidence, discover who they are, and make lasting friendships!

Ten (10) one‑week camper sessions

Position Description

The Health Lodge Assistant supports daily Health Lodge operations, provides overnight supervision, assists with medical documentation, and may distribute over‑the‑counter medications under Standing Orders.

This is a fast‑paced, team‑based environment ideal for healthcare professionals who enjoy:

  • Working with children and teens
  • Being part of a collaborative camp community
  • Practicing medicine in a non‑traditional, outdoor setting
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise campers resting in the Health Lodge
  • Provide comfort care and observe for changes in condition
  • Accurately document all Health Lodge visits and outcomes
  • Distribute over‑the‑counter medications only under Standing Orders when clearance is verified
  • Communicate all concerns to the Nurse or Camp EMT
  • Serve as overnight “ears” in the Health Lodge for emergency awareness
Benefits

$6,000 for a 12 week summer. Housing, meals, and laundry included. Weekend work is required, this position requires availability to work on‑site 7 days a week for the contract period.

Required Experience and Skills
  • Strong communication and record‑keeping skills
  • Ability to follow medical instructions precisely
  • Professional demeanor with campers and staff
  • Experience in health care or youth services
  • First Aid and CPR certified
