The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care using the nursing process, demonstrating clinical competence relevant to the area of nursing practice, and adhering to the ANA Code of Ethics.

• Follows established hospital policy regarding patient safety measures such as infection prevention, safe patient handling and movement, critical lab notification, etc.; maintains central lines and prevents surgical site infections per policy.
• Provides quality nursing care including administration of medications, nursing intervention, and patient and family teaching within guidelines established in hospital policy and procedure to support quality outcomes and patient safety.
• Performs initial and ongoing assessments in all aspects of patient care to monitor status, improve quality, enhance patient safety, and to provide accurate information to the health‑care team.
• Documents all patient care activities and required quality monitoring items to comply with established quality measures and support clinical decision making.
• Communicates patient information to physicians and appropriate team members to improve outcomes; delegates as appropriate while maintaining a team‑work and accountability atmosphere.
• Communicates with patient and family members in a timely manner to enhance the patient experience and provide education to support health‑care outcomes.
• Demonstrates critical thinking in nursing practice and seeks to develop skills and abilities through continuing education.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.

• One year experience preferred.

• Current RN license in the State of Missouri or Compact Licensure.
• Graduate nurses (GNs) must obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).

• Considerable mental concentration required. Lifting up to 35 lbs., turning activities, standing, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, twisting, reaching, and nearly constant walking required.

• Frequent exposure to infectious disease and communicable disease via blood and other bodily fluids. May encounter hostile persons at times.
