Clinic RN

General Summary- The Office RN assists the provider by delivering assessments, treatments, testing, and patient education. Must be well organized, professional, detail‑oriented, and able to multitask efficiently.
- Follow hospital policies for patient safety, infection prevention, safe patient handling, and laboratory notification.
- Maintain central lines and prevent surgical site infections according to policy.
- Administer medications (oral, IM, SC, topical, IV) as ordered.
- Assist with procedures, instrument setup, and supplies.
- Assist with examinations within scope of practice.
- Conduct phone triage and serve as liaison between provider and patient; communicate test results and answer questions.
- Document chief complaint, visit reason, and care details accurately in the medical record.
- Initiate, review, and update patient medication and summary lists per provider preference.
- Maintain inventory of medications and supplies.
- Maintain venous access devices (ports) and administer IV push medications and flushes as ordered.
- Escort patients to exam rooms, obtain weight, and record vital signs.
- Inform and set up patients (or guardians) for My Chart and educate on its benefits.
- Perform point‑of‑care lab testing and collect specimens for lab analysis.
- Provide patient teaching and supportive services as directed.
- Administer treatments as ordered.
- Train RN, LPN, and MA staff in the clinic role.
- Schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; obtain pre‑certification authorization from payers as required.
- Meet commitments, work independently, accept accountability, adapt to change, maintain personal standards, and remain a team player. Maintain attendance and punctuality.
- Graduate of an accredited RN program required.
- Nursing or other healthcare experience preferred but not required.
- Current RN license in the state of Missouri or a Compact state required.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required.
Physical Requirements
- Significant mental concentration required.
- Lift up to 35 lbs., perform turning activities, and walk continuously.
- Stand, turn, carry, push, pull, stoop, crouch, twist, and reach regularly.
- Frequent exposure to infectious disease and potential hostile individuals.
- Exposure to communicable diseases through blood and other body fluids.
- Minimal physical discomfort.
