American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of acute care experience and MO or compact RN license.

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit within an acute care hospital setting
• Adult and geriatric patient population with conditions including CHF, infection, cardiac catheterization, pacemaker, pneumonia, stroke, TIA, seizures, and UTI
• Provides post-procedure care for pacemaker and cardiac catheterization patients
• Manages a variety of post-care procedures including thoracentesis, chest tubes, cardiac drips, heparin drips, and peritoneal dialysis
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
• Every other weekend required
• Epic charting system preferred

• Active RN license (Missouri or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of acute medical-surgical telemetry experience required
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and starting/maintaining IVs required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, including interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Experience managing patients with CVA and seizure disorders
• Two professional references required for consideration
• PDF copies of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

• Deliver direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg Telemetry unit, including monitoring, medication management, and post-procedure care
• Experience with wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions/PPE, and oxygen administration is preferred
• Familiarity with pre/post cardiac cath and pre/post cardiac surgery care is preferred
• Completion of compliance modules required, which may be done pre-start or during orientation if not completed beforehand
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
