As Needed Part-time Instructor – Mathematics
Part‑time instructor for a multi‑site college in the University System of Georgia. Reporting to the Division Chair for the School of STEM, the part‑time instructor is responsible for preparing for and delivering instruction for courses in learning support mathematics or credit mathematics.
Location:
GHC – Floyd, Cartersville, Marietta, Paulding campuses. Regular/Temporary:
Regular. Full/Part Time:
Part‑Time.
- Manage courses through systematic use of syllabi
- Keep accurate records of students’ class performance, attendance, and grades
- Adopt and implement common course objectives
- Attend part‑time faculty orientation prior to the beginning of the semester
- Participate in assessment of student learning outcomes
Master’s degree with 18 hours of graduate‑level mathematics course sections; available to teach day, evening, or weekend at one or more of the Georgia Highlands College instructional sites.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities- Familiarity with classroom technology
- Exposure to innovative pedagogies
- Can manage online classes and testing while maintaining academic integrity
- Knowledgeable in various programming languages
- Demonstrated ability to teach and maintain positive student interactions
- Maintains a student success vision and priority
- Willing to try new approaches
- Active in professional development and maintains connections to the computer science/information systems field
- Willing to travel throughout the GHC service region
