Position: PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE/DIETARY AIDE (FULL TIME)

Patient Dining Associate / Dietary Aide (Full Time)

Location:

Atrium Health Floyd – 304 Turner McCall Boulevard, Rome, Georgia 30165. Online applications accepted only.

Schedule:

Full time; days may vary, 6:30 am to 7:00 pm. Rotating weekends. Details discussed during interview.

Fixed Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour.

Requirements:
Prior customer service or food service experience is preferred.

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility, helping patients make menu selections, assemble, deliver, and pick up meal trays. They are part of the caregiving team, responsible for patient safety and satisfaction and ensuring meals are accurate, delivered at the right time, and at the correct temperature.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Help patients understand menu selections and cooperate with nursing to ensure orders comply with nutritional requirements or restrictions.
  • Work with caregivers and the culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with food allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences, or additional selections requested by patients.
  • Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s selection promptly and accurately; retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
  • Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO; adhere to facility confidentiality and HIPAA policies.
  • Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food, cleaning workstations, and breaking down the patient tray line.
  • Adhere to facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
  • Assist dietitians with patients on special diets, such as liquid diets or specific calorie counts.
  • Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel promptly, following department procedures.
  • Complete all required daily, weekly, or monthly reports per Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations, and department sanitation procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documentation in English.
  • Basic computer and mathematical skills.
  • Occasional lifting or moving of up to 100 pounds, and pushing food delivery carts.
