Company Description

Northwest Georgia Charter Academy is a public charter school set to serve K-12 students from Floyd and Polk counties in Georgia and opening in August 2026. The school will implement a proven interdisciplinary, hands‑on, project‑based learning model tailored to meet the specific needs of the Floyd and Rome communities. This innovative model fosters academic excellence, critical thinking, respect, responsibility, and community service.

The academy is backed by the Georgia Charter Schools Association and a team of experienced charter school consultants. The school will be located on the gated campus of the Georgia School for the Deaf in Cave Spring, GA.

Role Description

The role of Business Manager is a full‑time, on‑site position located in Rome, GA, responsible for overseeing the school’s business operations. Day‑to‑day tasks include managing budgets, financial reporting, and operational planning. The Business Manager will oversee vendor contracts, support human resources processes, monitor compliance with financial policies, and collaborate with the school’s governing board and leadership team to ensure operational efficiency.

Additional responsibilities include preparing financial documents and reports to support both state and local authorization requirements.

Qualifications
  • Strong financial management and budgeting skills, including experience with financial reporting and operational planning
  • Proficiency in vendor management and contract negotiations
  • Knowledge of human resources processes, including employee onboarding and compliance procedures
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Experience in education finance or non‑profit financial management is desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications in financial management are a plus
  • Proven track record in managing budgets and planning in an organizational, school, or nonprofit environment
  • Knowledge and experience with public school finance is a plus
