Production Associate
SUMMARYEntry-level production positions, typically in either an assembly or robotic welding department.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND WORK STYLES/VALUESKnowledge:
- Mechanical - Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
Skills/Abilities:
- Quality Control Analysis - Conducting inspections of products or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
- Equipment Selection - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
- Installation - Installing parts to meet specifications.
- Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
- Visualization - The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged.
- Finger Dexterity - The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.

Occupation
Specific Tasks:
- Assembly
- Assemble parts or units, and position, align, and fasten units to assemblies, sub-assemblies, or frames, using
- hand tools and power tools.
- Clean and lubricate parts and sub-assemblies.
- Connect cables and tubes according to specifications.
- Disassemble units to replace parts or to put on racks for shipping
- Drill, tap, ream, countersink, and spot-face bolt holes in parts, using drill presses and portable power drills.
- Inspect, test, and adjust completed units to ensure that units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.
- Measure parts to determine tolerances, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and verniers.
- Operate or tend automated assembling equipment, such as fixed automation equipment.
- Operate lift assist to transport or position large parts.
- Pack or fold insulation between small parts.
- Position, align, and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly.
