Manufacturing Production Worker – Rome, GA

Georgia‑Pacific Rome Lumber is now hiring entry‑level Manufacturing Production Workers. The starting pay is $22.28 per hour, with a $1.50 night shift differential. This role helps meet production goals and offers opportunities for advancement.

Shift
  • Flexible to work any shift, including overtime, holidays, and weekends.
  • Hiring for both day and night shifts; assignment based on availability at start date.
  • First week orientation on shift 1 (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM), permanent shift assigned after completion.
  • Potential shift hours:
    Day shift 6:00 AM – 5:30 PM;
    Night shift 6:00 PM – 5:30 AM.

What You Will Do
  • Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines and actively participate in the safety program.
  • Remove lumber from conveyors and stack onto carts.
  • Work in various areas of the mill to meet or exceed facility and company production and quality goals.
  • Perform housekeeping functions to keep machinery running smoothly and reduce safety and fire hazards.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment with blowers, brooms, and other equipment.
  • Perform tasks that may involve lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, or pulling for up to 12 hours a day.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Minimum six (6) months of work experience in industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, farming, carpentry, construction, landscaping, production, or military environment.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience within a manufacturing environment, including at least one year operating heavy equipment and/or forklifts.
  • Experience working in a lumber or wood products environment.
