Overview Experteer Overview In this role, you lead design and validation of innovative tire compound concepts to support Bridgestone’s sustainable mobility efforts. You work within an R&D team to move ideas from prototype through validation to industrialization, leveraging materials science, chemistry, and process technology. You collaborate across functions to advance the innovation journey and partner with internal and external stakeholders to push fundamental understanding of materials and tribology.

You will contribute to technical meetings and drive cross-functional execution with autonomy.

Benefits Design, develop and validate new material and compound concepts for the BSEMIA innovation journey

Apply tribology, fracture mechanics and materials design to meet performance requirements

Propose solutions within cross-functional teams (Raw Material Development, Pattern Design Engineering, Tire Design, Manufacturing, Product Category Management)
Promote innovation projects and fundamental mechanism investigations with Bridgestone partners and academia

Collaborate with technicians, R&D researchers and management at the EMIA Technical Center in cross-functional teams

Prepare and contribute to technical meetings for BSEMIA functions

Manage assigned tasks with high proficiency and autonomy

Coordinate with Bridgestone corporate functions, and manufacturing plants across regions

Responsibilities

Ph.D. in Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related field

Strong background in material science (polymer physics, organic chemistry, thermodynamics)
Knowledge of fracture mechanics and tribology

Experience with compound and composite technology

Familiarity with non-Newtonian fluids (nice to have)
Basic simulation experience (Ansys, Abaqus, FEM)
Chemical and physical analytics

Strong communication and teamwork

Digital mindset with ability to apply new tools or software (machine learning, data analytics)
Project management in multicultural environments

English fluency
