About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Lead HSE Design Engineer to join our team and lead the HSE engineering activities for major international Oil & Gas projects. In this role, you will oversee ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental aspects are fully embedded throughout the Project engineering lifecycle.
As the focal point for HSE design matters, you will provide technical leadership, coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces and guide the development of compliant safety solutions for complex facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate all HSE engineering and design activities assigned to Projects, ensuring alignment with project objectives, schedules and quality requirements.
Act as the primary technical authority and focal point for HSE design matters within the project organization.
Plan, facilitate and supervise major HSE studies, including:
HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study)
SIL Classification and Verification
LOPA (Layer of Protection Analysis)
Escape, Evacuation and Rescue Studies
SIMOPS Reviews Issue, review and approve HSE engineering deliverables produced internally or by third parties, such as (among others):
Haz Op Reports, SIL Assessment reports, Fire Fighting and Fire Protection Layouts, Fire Fighting Devices and equipment D/S and Specifications, Hazardous Area Classification and Layouts, etc..
Ensure effective integration of HSE requirements across all engineering disciplines, including Process, Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Civil.
Participate in project reviews and management meetings (HAZOP, 3D model review, etc.), proactively identifying risks and proposing practical mitigation measures.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in HSE Engineering within Oil & Gas
Strong understanding of process safety principles and risk-based design approaches.
Experience working in multicultural and international project environments.
Leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Full professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certifications in Process Safety or HSE disciplines are considered a strong advantage.
