Environmental Permitting Consultant

In this role you will support Ramboll’s mission to drive sustainable change by interpreting environmental regulations and helping clients secure and maintain compliant operations. You will join a growing Compliance and Permitting team, collaborating across Europe on air quality, permits, and impact assessments. You’ll translate complex rules into practical regulatory solutions and contribute to high-impact projects with cross-functional colleagues. This opportunity combines regulatory expertise with hands-on permitting work in a flexible, inclusive culture.

Inclusive and diverse culture
Critically reviewing and interpreting EU and Italian environmental regulations
Assisting in preparing major and minor permit applications (e.g. AIA, AUA)
Assisting in preparing studies under Italia Environmental Impact Assessment legislation (screening di VIA, SIA, VINCA)
Assisting clients in maintaining operation in compliance with existing environmental permits (air emissions, waste management, wastewater control)
Preparing emissions calculations for industrial sources
Conducting compliance assessment against Best Available Techniques for various industries (Manufacturing, Metallurgy, Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Waste Treatment)
Conducting air quality reviews of emissions reduction or control
Conducting reviews of industrial wastewater management according to Italian National and regional legislation
Master of Science in Environmental Engineering
Demonstrated capabilities in understanding and applying environmental regulations
Demonstrated understanding of and ability to communicate effectively with regulatory authorities, government officials, major customers and senior executives
Strong analytical abilities and report writing
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Italian and English
