Offer Description
The central scientific focus involves an in-depth investigation of the self-pulsing nonlinear dynamics exhibited by arrays of Micro-Ring Resonators (MRRs) to address complex problems across varying time scales. Parallel to this dynamic analysis, the project aims to study and develop specialized training methods for MRR arrays to optimize them for smart sensing tasks, ultimately facilitating the detection of local perturbations in real-world systems.
These efforts are expected to yield several key results, including the precise definition of nonlinear operating points and the specific time scales required for the network to address targeted tasks. Additionally, the project will produce training algorithms applicable to MRR arrays in both passive and active configurations, culminating in the experimental validation of a machine learning task on a real-world implementation, such as fiber sensing.
