Position: Senior Agricultural Officer (Agricultural Machinery)
Experteer Overview In this role you will lead the Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization (SAM) work within NSPLD to advance modern, context-appropriate machinery and digital tools. You will shape strategy, oversee cross-divisional programs, and guide policy and technical standards with partners. The role focuses on increasing productivity and sustainability across diverse cropping systems, especially in low-input settings, through ecosystem-based approaches and innovation.

You will collaborate with governments, regional bodies, and the research community to drive impactful adoption.

Responsibilities Plan and lead multidisciplinary teams and cross-divisional initiatives

Provide input to FAO Strategic Framework, programmes, and budgets

Develop and monitor evidence-based strategies, tools, and monitoring systems

Conduct research and analysis to support technical standards and policy advisory services

Offer technical and policy advisory services to Members and decentralized offices

Lead capacity development and knowledge-sharing activities with Members Represent FAO at international meetings and build strategic partnerships

Support resource mobilization in line with the FAO Strategic Framework Oversee quality assurance of FAO's technical support for agricultural machinery adoption

Advise on programme and project formulations with SAM components

ResponsabilitàAdvanced university degree in relevant field

Ten years of relevant experience in agricultural mechanization and machinery

Working knowledge of English and intermediate knowledge of another FAO language
