Software Application Engineer – Genova, Roma, Pianezza – RINA Digital Technology & Cybersecurity Division – Salary 40,000–55,000 EUR – Permanent – Contract in Italy. Mission The Software Application Engineer focuses on designing, developing, testing, and deploying software applications that align with our business needs. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams, including product managers, UX/UI designers, and software developers, to deliver high‑quality solutions to our customers.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in software development and a passion for building scalable, maintainable, and efficient applications. Key Accountabilities  Software Development:  Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure software applications. Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code adhering to software development best practices. Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements and implementation plans.
Testing and Deployment:  Write automated tests to ensure the quality of applications and enhance test coverage. Debug the implemented application software. Support the V&V team during testing and validation activities for defect analysis. Analyze and solve detected problems, implementing the needed corrections.
Documentation:  Document software requirements, design decisions, APIs, and implementation details. Maintain technical documentation and diagrams related to the software applications.
Support and Maintenance:  Technical support to customers and internal teams as needed. Debug and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
Continuous Improvement:  Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends. Identify and propose improvements to existing software applications and development processes. Actively participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and retrospectives.
Collaboration and Communication:  Work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality software applications. Communicate technical concepts and ideas clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Education Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems Qualifications  2 or more years of experience in similar roles. Good experience as a Software Engineer or Software Application Engineer, with a track record of delivering high‑quality software applications. Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as C/C++ or C#.

Experience with desktop application development frameworks (e.g., MS Visual Studio, VS Code, Eclipse). Knowledge of requirements management and design tools (e.g., UML‑based tools). Familiarity with database technologies (SQL databases). Understanding of software engineering life cycle and development best practices, including Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems (e.g., Git). Familiarity with graphical user interface design and related development frameworks (e.g., Qt, NI Lab Windows/LabVIEW) is a plus.
