Physician - Internal Medicine (Nocturnist)-Rome, NY
Base Salary: $325,000 annually
Starting Bonus: $15,000

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Internal Medicine Physician to join a growing Hospitalist team as a Nocturnist at Rome, NY. This is an excellent opportunity to practice inpatient medicine in a supportive, community-centered environment with strong subspecialty and intensivist coverage.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care to a manageable census of 5-10 patients per night.
• Conduct admissions from the ED and direct admissions, including thorough histories, physicals, and diagnostic assessments.
• Accurately document all encounters in the Paragon EMR system.
• Manage acute medical conditions for patients on the hospitalist service, including care in an open ICU with 24/7 intensivist support for complex cases.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists, case managers, and ancillary departments to ensure optimal patient care.
• Develop and coordinate safe and timely discharge plans, including follow-up care arrangements.
• Participate in handoff communications and interdisciplinary rounds to support continuity of care.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives, performance metrics, and patient safety programs.
• Adhere to all hospital policies, medical staff bylaws, and regulatory documentation requirements.

Schedule

• Full-time Nocturnist schedule
• Shifts and block scheduling will be discussed during the interview process

Qualifications

Required:

• Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible in Internal Medicine (within 1 year of eligibility)
• Active New York medical license or willingness to obtain
• Clean malpractice and license history
• Active DEA certification
• Not accepting Locums, Visa candidates, or 1099 candidates
• Must not have applied directly to the client (per submission rules)

Preferred:

• 1 year of Hospitalist or Nocturnist experience (not required)
• Experience working in an ICU setting with intensivist support
