Mechanical Drafter

The Position

This position is a member of the Engineering Department. The Layout Drafter/Mechanical Drafter will report directly to the Mechanical Engineering Team Leader.

Job Description

Primary Responsibilities

• Produce finished AutoCAD and/or Solid Works drawings. Including, but not limited to, general arrangements, sketches, mark-up’s, preliminary layouts and proposal drawings.

• Work with mechanical engineers to perform all drawing requests.
• Drawings to be of quality work, conforming to Bartell standards.
• Update marked up drawings or legacy prints (RPG requests) as required.
• Provide accurate data entry of information between D365 and point(s) of origin.
• Ensure BOM accuracy per print.

• Create Bartell part numbers as required.

• Create item masters for all new purchased components.
• Ensure standardization and quality of inputs.

Job Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma

Skills & Relevant Work Experience

• AutoCAD and Solid Works training from two-year program, technical school, or relevant certifications
• Basic understanding of drafting standards and GD&T
• Working knowledge of D365
• Experience creating 2D and 3D CAD content
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Extremely meticulous and detail oriented
• Microsoft Word and Excel proficient
• Proficient math skills:
  Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry
