Driver - CDL Class A

Position Summary

Orgill is looking for a Driver in Rome, NY. This full‑time position offers a base salary of $80,000 per year with safety and referral bonuses.

• Safety Bonus:
  Up to $6,000 paid annually
• Driver Referral Bonus: $1,000 total (for all drivers & all domiciles)

• Operate a tractor‑trailer with one or more trailers.
• Perform Pre‑Trip and Post‑Trip functions.
• Deliver and unload merchandise at customer stores, by hand when necessary.
• Complete all required paperwork (DOT logs, manifests, trip reports and fuel reports).
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Manage customer merchandise in a timely and safe manner.
• Takes direction from Supervisor.
• Maintain excellent attendance and reliability.
• Adhere to DC housekeeping guidelines.
• Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned. Nonessential.

• High school diploma.
• Current Class A license with Haz Mat endorsement; doubles required.
• Adherence to all DOT requirements and willingness to perform shuttle driver functions.
• Minimum two years of tractor‑driving experience; experience pulling double trailers preferred.
• Willingness and ability to work as needed, including overnight stays.
• Excellent driving history.
• Commitment to a high standard of safety and compliance with all safety policies and practices.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Good comprehension skills.
• Effective interaction with other departments and all levels of management.
• Attention to detail and demonstrated problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
• Team player with a can‑do attitude.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
