What you’ll do

Research Engineers and Specialists support development of active material science projects in adhesives, composites, sound adsorption, and expandable materials, collaborating with other engineers and scientists to deliver unique material solutions to customers.

Duties / Responsibilities of this position
  • Create new technologies and solutions through a technically fundamental and sound approach.
  • Work with a team to plan and lead execution of development and testing protocols to explore modes of problem solution or routes of new product or technology creation.
  • Maintain and expand expertise in scientific areas, including physical, chemical, analytical, or formulation principles and methods.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge via presentations (internal and external).
  • Cultivate global collaboration in the internal and external scientific community.
  • Serve as a champion of safety practices in the laboratory and office environments.
  • Be very competent with self‑directed work.
  • Maintain, construct, and ensure safety of laboratory workspace and equipment.
  • Stay up to date within the field of expertise.
  • Attend trade shows and technical conferences.
  • Visit customers.
Job Requirements Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • BS or MS in the sciences, typically in chemical, material, and engineering sciences.
  • Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal degree.
  • Experience ranges from fresh graduate to industry professional.
  • Very adept at maintaining and improving laboratory safety requirements.
  • Proficient in scientific methods and laboratory apparatus.
