Position SummaryThe Business Development Specialist is responsible for increasing community awareness and promoting the company’s brand in the marketplace. This position will be responsible for developing on‑going relationships with referral partners and community organizations. The Business Development Specialist is responsible for attending relevant networking and marketing events to expand business contacts and relationships. This position may require up to 80% regional travel.
RequiredExperience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in business development, professional networking, and event planning.
- Proven ability to thrive fast‑paced environments and manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- Strong self‑motivation with the ability to work independently and effectively manage time and priorities.
- Demonstrated initiative, creativity, sound judgement, and adherence to high professional and ethical standards.
- Experience in the senior living industry is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships that support collaboration and drive business.
- Drives new business opportunities by expanding referral network to increase move ins across designated communities.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute both internal and external networking and marketing events to promote community visibility and brand.
- Conduct outreach and develop ongoing relationships with referral partners, community/professional organizations, and other sources.
- Collaborate with community leadership to generate resident and employee referrals.
- Serve as a product expert and educational resource for residents, families, caregivers, and staff.
- Utilize CRM to track and maintain all outreach activity and outcomes.
- Collaborate with Community Specialist to ensure lead follow through and cadence.
- Represent the organization with professionalism, promoting brand values and standards of excellence.
- Performs additional duties as needed.
- Understands role and responsibilities of Community Specialist and support as Community Specialist as needed.
- Analyze and understand the competitive landscape and value proposition for designated communities.
- Support designated communities’ LOA (Leave of Absence) program.
This position entails standing for long periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively with others, sit, stand, walk and use hands to handle keyboard, telephone, paper, files, and other equipment and objects. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to review detailed documents and read computer screens.
The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The work environment requires appropriate interaction with others. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Occasional travel to different locations may be required.
