Senior Creative Graphic Designer; In-Person

Al-Furqaan Foundation, a 501(c)(3) Islamic nonprofit established in 2003, is recruiting a Senior Creative Graphic Designer for a full-time, permanent, on-site position at its Romeoville, Illinois headquarters. The Foundation's mission centers on sharing the Quran and Islamic education with communities across America. The role focuses on creating compelling visual narratives across print, digital, social media, and emerging platforms. You'll take concepts from ideation through polished execution, transforming abstract briefs into clear visual direction.

• Conceptualize, design, and deliver high-quality visual assets for campaigns, publications, social media, events, and brand initiatives
• Develop creative concepts and visual directions aligned with project goals, audience insights, and organizational priorities
• Leverage AI-powered creative platforms (image generation, layout tools, automation) to enhance workflow and quality
• Maintain and evolve the Foundation's brand identity consistently across all touchpoints
• Collaborate with marketing, content, and leadership teams to translate ideas into compelling visuals
• Manage multiple concurrent projects with meticulous attention to detail
• Take ownership of creative decisions and proactively propose new ideas, formats, and design approaches
• Prepare print-ready files and coordinate with vendors as needed
• Stay current with design trends, AI tools, and industry best practices

• 5+ years of professional graphic design experience, ideally in creative, nonprofit, or mission-driven settings
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Comfortable with AI-enhanced design tools and other design software; ability to select the right tool for each task (Figma, Canva, AI platforms, etc.)
• Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking, versatility, and polished execution
• Ability to independently ideate and convert abstract concepts into clear visual direction
• Excellent communication skills with confidence to present and defend creative decisions
• Strong organizational abilities to manage deadlines and shifting priorities
• Proactive, self-starting mindset with demonstrated ability to create momentum

• Experience with motion graphics, video editing, or animation
• Familiarity with Islamic organizations, audiences, or cultural contexts
• Photography or illustration skills
• Experience designing for both print and digital mediums
