Hiring Rate per Contact Hour (Fall 2025 to Summer 2026): $1106.00 for Bachelor's or Master's degree holders; $1161.00 for Ph.D, Ed.D, or J.D. holders

Position SummaryAn adjunct community college instructor is hired for one semester to teach one or more courses for which they are qualified. The adjunct instructor reports to the appropriate Instructional Coordinator and/or Department Chair, provides quality instruction for the assigned courses, works with full‑time faculty in assessing students, follows all course guidelines, and is willing to teach at other campus sites or online/blended courses.
Adjunct instructors may submit preferences for locations and loads. Position is subject to all terms and provisions of the Joliet Junior College adjunct faculty contract.

- Muscular Resistance Training/Theory and Practice
- Introduction to Athletic Training
- Fitness Assessment and Program Design
- First Aid/AED/CPR
- Nutrition of Health and Fitness
- Master's degree in Kinesiology or closely related field is required.
- One (1) year of teaching experience at the collegiate level.
- Expertise in appropriate technologies for instruction.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching and learning.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence and emotional intelligence.
- Demonstrated commitment to the college's core values of respect and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and well‑being, innovation and quality.
- Doctoral Degree in Kinesiology or closely related field.
- Teaching experience at the community college level.
- Licensed Athletic Trainer with practical experience in the university or community college setting.
- Experience with traditional and non‑traditional students from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience with instruction in muscle theory and resistance training.
- English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
- Demonstrated multicultural competence.
Standard classroom equipment and software.
