Job Purpose

The Shift Supervisor reports to the Warehouse Manager, supervises warehouse operations, communicates transition information, manages staff performance, and oversees computer entry work and paperwork flow.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assign work assignments for all 2nd shift staff, meeting delivery schedules.
  • Oversee loading of inbound/outbound freight per customer specifications.
  • Supervise local, regional, and OTR drivers; communicate updates and workflow changes.
  • Review deliveries for poor packing and conditions; alert Customer Service Rep, Warehouse Manager, and COO as needed.
  • Oversee and assign processing of shipment paperwork, including scanning BOLs.
  • Ensure all shipments are recorded, verified, and accurate against paperwork.
  • Monitor quality and accuracy of shipments.
  • Ensure department staff meets customer requirements and stays trained on changes.
  • Update Tee Card board and TMW system.
  • Communicate with customers and respond to inquiries.
  • Communicate via email prior to end of each shift for smooth transition.
  • Ensure safety, training, and development of employees, drivers, and contractors under OSHA and RJW policies.
  • Oversee completion of all computer data entry, checking for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Approve shift employee timesheets for payroll and monitor overtime.
  • Complete daily building checks; notify Warehouse Director of equipment or building problems; assist maintenance.
  • Ensure adherence to AIB processes, procedures, and guidelines; provide training for handling food products.
  • Ensure completion of safety and equipment checklists per SOP or Policy; issue corrective actions.
  • Handle accident reporting and care of injured employees; notify HR and management.
  • Perform other tasks as instructed by Warehouse Manager or COO.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 3+ years of warehouse supervisory/managerial experience.
  • Dispatch experience.
  • Dock supervision experience.
  • Familiarity with Smart Turn or TMW software (plus).
  • Experience in Warehouse Management and LTL dispatch.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and requirements.
Education and Experience Required
  • Minimum high school diploma or GED.
  • Some college preferred.
