Junior Sales Associate

Apex Industrial Automation is seeking a new team member to join our expanding organization (on-site located in Romeoville). This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in industrial distribution/MRO sales and seeking mentorship to grow their sales career with a leader in the Chicago market.

The new hire will undergo our Customer and Product Training (CAPT), lasting 9-12 months. After completing this training, there is potential for promotion to an Outside Account Manager role with a specific territory in the greater Chicagoland area.

• Onboarding and training on the Apex-way
• Understanding company culture & values
• Shadowing all departments
• Training in all products Apex sells, distributes, and supports
• ERP, CRM, and other software training used by Apex
• Learning Apex sales techniques and lifecycle
• Processing customer orders and providing quotes for RFQs
• Expediting and tracking purchase orders with suppliers
• Handling customer inquiries via phone, text, or email

• Ongoing training in sales, products, and services
• Outbound cold-calling and inbound lead follow-up
• Meeting or exceeding quotas and KPIs such as call volume, contacts, response time, and conversion rate
• Qualifying potential customers for Apex products and services
• Collaborating with Outside Sales and Customer Support teams
• Managing open orders and quotes dashboards
• Updating customer databases and tracking sales activities
• Supporting team members professionally and courteously
• Delivering confident sales and product presentations
• Performing additional duties as assigned

• Fluent in English (written and verbal)
• 2+ years of experience and/or a 2-year Associates or Technical degree
• Experience in customer service, sales, or purchasing in manufacturing or distribution preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM, and vendor pricing programs
• Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport
• Ability to multitask and work collaboratively
• Self-motivated, resilient, and persistent in overcoming rejection
