Salary: Base 58,000 yearly + Commission

As a Transport Broker Representative, you will focus on finding and managing new and existing customers, identifying their strengths, and matching them with existing lane needs. You will be responsible for sourcing and procuring new customers, determining capacity and availability, negotiating contractual details & rates, while ensuring professional and consistent communication. This position requires in-depth knowledge of transportation market trends, analytical thinking, and relationship management expertise.
EssentialDuties And Responsibilities
- Strategically develop new customers (lead generation, pricing, follow up) to increase company profitability
- Pursue, build, and develop relationships with a focus on consistent revenue growth
- Maintain knowledge of market conditions, industry developments, and industry networking
- Build a base of customers through research and cold calls
- Negotiate rates with customers and potential customers
- Onboard new accounts
- Established Book of Business
- 2-4 years of sales experience within Freight Brokerage
- Excellent communication (written/verbal), strategic thinking, presentation, and people skills
- Superior interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Strong work ethic, time management skills and ability to learn quickly
- Self-starter, organized with ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to contribute to a high-energy, fast-paced, and positive work environment
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong achievement orientation with creative problem solving and an innovative mindset
- High School education required
- College or some college preferred
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business materials; ability to write reports and business correspondence; ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers.
- Ability to perform arithmetic operations and interpret rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions; determine root causes and corrective actions.
- Knowledge of business operating systems, internet software, word processing, and spreadsheets.
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to speak clearly over the phone and in front of others
- Indoor/office environment with typical office activities; ability to sit and use repetitive hand motions
- Ability to work beyond 8 hours when required; ability to work under stressful conditions and manage multiple tasks
- Normal vision required (20/20 corrected); able to hear speech in typical ranges
