Pay: $29/hr. 2nd and 3rd shift comes with a $2 shift differential.

As a Technician at Penske, you’ll do preventative maintenance and minor repairs on the newest and best maintained fleet of vehicles in the industry. You will help keep vehicles in shape and on the road. Whether you’re looking for your first job out of school or have some vehicle repair experience and are looking to switch gears, becoming a Penske Technician may be a great fit for you.
MainResponsibilities
- Ensuring vehicles are maintained and safe for customers.
- Using Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic vehicle diagnostics.
- Performing preventative maintenance repairs—such as replacing or rotating tires, lubricating components, electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles.
- Partnering with your manager to learn new skills via Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching.
- Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

- Strong, well‑rounded training on a variety of OEM equipment (Penske’s Technician Certification Program is certified by the Continuing Automotive Service Education provider).
- Advanced vehicle maintenance technology.

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Problem‑solving ability and comfort using tools.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Team‑player attitude and ability to work independently.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to understand and comply with specific instructions, guidelines, rules, and regulations established by Penske management.
- Adherence to DOT, OSHA, and Penske safety and maintenance policies, including proper tool, PPE, machine guarding, and best safety practices.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is essential.
- Knowledge of DOT requirements, driver qualification file maintenance, and related safety checks. CDL holders must pass drug screening and FMCSA clearinghouse review.
- Willingness to work required schedule, location, complete application, background screening, drug screen, physical, and potential near‑geography training.
- Frequent movement, standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods.
- Use of hands to grasp, reach, touch, handle, and operate tools or controls on a daily basis.
- Ability to safely work at heights using ladders and elevated platforms.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Visual and auditory acuity to navigate workplace with large trucks.
- Capacity to lift or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) routinely and up to 100 lbs (45 kg) occasionally; ability to push/pull tires exceeding 100 lbs.
