Position: MICROMARKET ROUTE DRIVER (FULL TIME)

Overview

Canteen is hiring for a full time MICROMARKET ROUTE DRIVER position located at Canteen Romeoville, 7 Greenwood Avenue, Romeoville, IL 60446. Online applications are accepted only.

Schedule:

Full time, Monday through Friday; hours may vary. Pay range: $46,800 - $70,000 annually (estimated). This is a commission-based role. All Canteen driving roles may include commission eligibility.

Requirement:
Must have a valid driver’s license. Position requires lifting.

Job Summary

The Route Driver operates a company vehicle along an established route to deliver products or render services and to fill and maintain micro markets and related equipment. The Route Driver represents the company and should project a professional and positive image of Canteen at all times while maintaining and building strong client and customer relationships. This position offers strong advancement opportunities and a foundation for entry level management opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain proper inventory levels and product distribution for micro market.
  • Provide client and customer satisfaction in every aspect of job performance.
  • Display understanding of company policies and administer as needed.
  • Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of micro market and related equipment.
  • Conduct minor service and adjustments on markets; report defective equipment to maintenance/repair service operators or technician dispatcher as needed.
  • Before each day’s route, ensure the truck is properly loaded to service all scheduled markets following procedures.
  • Inform regular clients of new products or services, listen to and resolve service complaints.
  • Set up merchandise and sales promotion displays or issue sales promotion materials to customers.
  • Be accountable for receipt of goods, invoices, delivery tickets, cash received, and product stock.
  • Conduct inventory reconciliation in accordance with district procedures.
  • Keep company vehicle clean and organized; perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Perform all job functions in a safe and professional manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 3 years driving experience required.
  • Preferred 1–2 years’ experience in a customer service position, or a minimum of 1 year of related experience.
  • Valid Non-CDL Class C driver’s license (state indicated) ensuring safe operation of company vehicles.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a consistent basis.
  • Ability to operate or willingness to learn material handling equipment (box truck, handcarts, etc.).
  • Able to work independently and be responsible for route work unsupervised most of the work day.
