About the Role
Hawkes Resourcing Group is seeking an experienced Painting Estimator to join a leading and growing commercial painting contractor based in the Romford. Would suit someone from a finishing Trade flooring,drylining,plastering, But the ideal candidate would be from a Painting Estimating background

Key Responsibilities

* Attend site visits, meet clients, and compile RFIs

* Prepare and submit competitive bids and tenders

* Create bills of quantities using digital tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Plan Swift)

* Strategically follow up on bids and explore opportunities to win projects

* Work closely with Project Managers for smooth project handovers

* Build strong client relationships with property managers, councils, and inspectors

* Collaborate with the estimating, project, and site teams

* Identify leads with sales & marketing based on market trends

* Maintain proactive and clear communication with clients and teams

* Forecast project costs and handle relevant financial administration

* Stay informed on safety standards, products, systems, and industry trends

* Review drawings/specifications and understand site-specific requirements
Requirements & Skills
✅ Minimum 1 year of estimating experience (required)
✅ Right to work in the UK (essential)
✅ Full UK Driving Licence (preferred)
✅ Background in painting or another construction trade (advantageous)
✅ Proficient in Excel, Outlook, Word, SharePoint, Power Point
✅ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
✅ Confident communicator with excellent people skills
✅ Knowledge of project logistics and construction phases
✅ Digital take-off experience and interest in tech-driven estimating is a plus
✅ A-level or equivalent qualification (preferred)
