We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the safe and successful delivery of civil engineering, water, and wastewater infrastructure projects in Romford. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day site operations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and hands-on Site Manager with experience working within utilities, water, civil engineering, or infrastructure environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the project programme.
Plan, monitor, and coordinate site activities, labour, plant, materials, and subcontractors.
Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) requirements and company procedures.
Maintain accurate site records, including site diaries, inspections, permits, and progress reports.
Produce weekly and monthly progress updates for senior management and project teams.
Manage and supervise site personnel, subcontractors, and supply chain partners.
Liaise with clients, local authorities, stakeholders, and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Ensure Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), Permit-to-Work systems, site inductions, and toolbox talks are completed and effectively communicated.
Carry out regular site inspections and audits in line with company management systems.
Ensure Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) are implemented and maintained.
Monitor site performance, identify project risks, and implement effective solutions to maintain programme and budget targets.
Report progress, issues, and key project metrics to the Project Manager.
Experience, Qualifications & Certifications
Proven experience working on water treatment projects
Strong understanding of construction methodologies, engineering principles, and industry best practice.
Experience managing subcontractors, direct labour, and multi-disciplinary site teams.
Good knowledge of CDM Regulations and health and safety legislation.
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Full UK Driving Licence.

EUSR SHEA Water (Modules 1 &
2)
EUSR National Water Hygiene Card
First Aid at Work Certificate
Valid CSCS Card
Desirable
HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) Certification.
IOSH Managing Safely or IOSH Environmental Awareness.
NRSWA Supervisor Qualification.
Knowledge of NEC contracts.
