Pay and Hours
Part‑time, term‑time only. 28 hours per week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday.
Competitive salary of £18,144 – £20,076 per annum inclusive of London weighting (pro‑rated to 28hpw, 38 weeks per year).
Role OverviewLearning Support Practitioner (LSP) – provide 1:1, shared, in‑class and group support to SEN learners within the mainstream college. Deliver support to learners with SEMH, dyslexia, autism, ADHD and speech/language needs.
Key Responsibilities- Work under the supervision and guidance of the tutor with students with mild/moderate and complex learning difficulties and disabilities within the Horizons or Mainstream area.
- Provide one‑to‑one support and group support, both direct and indirect, for students with learning difficulties and disabilities following foundation courses, primarily in the learning environment.
- Work with the Student Support Advisors and Youth Worker to support students with SEMH needs and encourage such students to attend the College.
- Use learning support systems to ensure bespoke support for individual learners.
- A level 2 or above qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject area.
- Experience of providing effective coaching for students individually or in a group to support success and progression.
- Demonstrate an ability to support, monitor and track learner progress, including attendance, behaviour and completion of vocational activity.
- Proficient IT skills.
- Level 2 English & Maths or equivalent desirable.

- This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020.

Staff must become familiar with the College’s policies and comply with safeguarding duties. Mandatory training on KCSIE and other key areas is required.
