SEN Specialist Outreach Tutor (Havering)
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced SEN Specialist Outreach Tutor to deliver personalised education programmes on a 1:1 basis to children and young people in Havering who are currently not accessing mainstream education.
In this role, you will design, plan, and deliver individualised learning sessions that address gaps in education, support EHCP outcomes, and help re-engage pupils with a wide range of special educational needs. Many of these learners may have social, emotional, behavioural, or medical barriers to learning, and may have been out of formal education for an extended period.
Your role will be vital in rebuilding confidence, encouraging positive learning routines, and providing a nurturing, structured approach that meets each pupil's unique needs.
Prospero Teaching will work closely with you to track pupil progress, review support strategies, and ensure high-quality, impactful learning.

Session Length:
Minimum 1 hour, maximum 3 hours per session
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
QTS, QTLS, PGCE, or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Experience supporting students with special educational needs (ASD, SEMH, ADHD, SpLD, etc.)
Minimum 6 months experience in a UK school or education setting
Recent safeguarding training (desirable but not essential)
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
Have the Right to Work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child workforce DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one
Provide two professional references covering the last two years, including child-related experience
