About the SEN Teaching Assistant RoleAs a SEN Teaching Assistant in Havering, your responsibilities may include:
- Providing 1:1 support for pupils with Autism or SEMH
- Delivering targeted interventions as a small group SEN Teaching Assistant
- Supporting children with EHCPs
- Assisting the class teacher with differentiated learning strategies
- Helping regulate behaviour using positive reinforcement techniques
Schools are particularly keen to appoint a confident SEN Teaching Assistant who can remain calm under pressure and maintain clear boundaries while being nurturing and supportive.
The Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant- Experience with in primary or specialist SEN schools
- Strong understanding of Autism and behavioural support strategies
- Resilient, patient and emotionally intelligent
- Available immediately or for upcoming half-term placements
- Open to flexible daily supply or long-term roles
