Job Advertisement: SEMH Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEMH Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our secondary schools in Romford. StartingImmediately, you will play a critical role in supporting students, helping them engage positively with their education and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Assist teaching staff in creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Implement personalized learning plans and strategies.
  • Use de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe and positive atmosphere.
  • Foster emotional well-being and resilience in students.

Our ideal SEMH LSA is patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting students with unique needs. You should have a proactive approach, demonstrating empathy and building trust with students to foster their growth and emotional well-being.

Please note that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and the successful applicant must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
