We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Romford.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and helping them achieve their full potential. Working closely with teaching staff and the SEND team, you will play a key role in providing tailored support to pupils both inside and outside the classroom.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs.
  • Assist with the delivery of targeted interventions and personalised learning activities.
  • Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Help implement strategies outlined in EHCPs and support plans.
  • Promote independence, confidence, and positive engagement in learning.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to support pupil progress.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
What You'll Need
  • Previous experience working with children, ideally within a school, SEN, or care setting.
  • A patient, caring, and empathetic approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Confidence supporting children with a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and Speech & Language difficulties.
  • A flexible and proactive attitude.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Relevant SEN training or Teaching Assistant qualifications are desirable but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position.
