£100–£115 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | Start After October Half Term | Havering Axcis Education is recruiting a confident and personable SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a mainstream secondary school in Havering from after the October half term. This is a full-time, long-term role supporting students across KS3 and KS4 with needs including Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, SEMH and mild to moderate learning difficulties.

The focus is on helping students stay engaged, organised and confident in lessons while encouraging them to become increasingly independent. The school is looking for someone who can build strong relationships with teenagers, understand when to step in and when to step back, and provide the right level of support without creating dependency.

About the Role
  • Supporting students across KS3 and KS4
  • Working with pupils with Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, SEMH and additional learning needs
  • Providing classroom, 1:1 and small-group support
  • Helping students with focus, organisation and understanding lesson content
  • Supporting pupils across subjects including English, Maths, Science and Humanities
  • Helping students manage emotional regulation and low-level behaviour
  • Following individual EHCP targets and support strategies
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff
  • Encouraging students to develop confidence, resilience and independence
About You
  • Have previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, SEND TA or classroom support worker
  • Are confident working with secondary-aged students
  • Have experience supporting Autism, ADHD, SEMH or learning difficulties
  • Can build positive relationships while maintaining clear professional boundaries
  • Understand how to support students without doing the work for them
  • Are calm, approachable and able to use initiative
  • Hold a CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 qualification – desirable but not essential
  • Can commit to a full-time, long-term role from after October half term
The School & Location

The role is based within a mainstream secondary school in Havering, with good transport links from Romford, Hornchurch, Rainham, Upminster and surrounding areas. This would be a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys mainstream secondary SEND support and wants to become a consistent part of a school team, helping students make progress both academically and personally.
