An established and growing M&E contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join its mechanical estimating team based in Romford.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-structured and expanding division, offering clear progression into senior and management-level roles within a supportive and experienced leadership team.

Role Overview
You will be responsible for pricing mechanical services tenders across a range of sectors, working on projects typically valued between £1m and £20m. The role requires strong technical understanding, commercial awareness, and the ability to produce accurate and competitive tenders.

Key Responsibilities
 
Preparation and submission of mechanical tenders from first principles
Pricing projects ranging from £1m-£20m
Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
Preparing detailed take-offs, labour plans, and cost breakdowns
Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations
Identifying risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost savings
Supporting tender adjudications and handover to delivery teams
Working closely with senior estimators and commercial management  Candidate Requirements
 
Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the UK M&E sector
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services systems
Experience pricing mid-to-large scale mechanical packages
Good understanding of current market rates and procurement strategies
Strong IT skills, including estimating software and Microsoft Excel  Skills & Attributes
 
High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy
Commercially astute with a methodical approach to tendering
Strong communication and organisational skills
Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced estimating environment  Package
 
£50,000-£70,000 salary, depending on experience
Office-based role in Romford
