We are recruiting an experienced CNC Milling or Turning Programmer / Setter / Operator to join our established precision engineering business.
This role involves developing manufacturing processes for new products and generating CNC programmes for 3, 4 and 5 Axis machine tools within a precision engineering environment. Aerospace experience is preferred.
CNC Milling or Turning Programmer / Setter / OperatorKey Responsibilities
- Develop efficient and cost-effective manufacturing processes
- Generate CNC programmes using CAD/CAM software (Gibbs
CAM preferred) - Offline programming for 3, 4 and 5 Axis CNC machines
- Create tool definitions, setup sheets and tooling plans
- Prove out programmes into production
- Specify and apply cutting tools and machine tools
- Manage tooling, gauges, work holding and supporting process elements
- Ensure projects are completed within budget and timescale
- Support continuous improvement and problem-solving activities
- Strong experience in CNC Milling or Turning (Programming essential)
- Proven experience with 3, 4 or 5 Axis machines
- CAD/CAM programming experience (Gibbs
CAM preferred) - Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications
- Experience in precision engineering manufacturing
- Aerospace background preferred
- Understanding of NC programmes (offline programming required)
- ONC / HND in Engineering or completed manufacturing apprenticeship (or equivalent experience)
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Experience using SOLIDWORKS
- Experience with in a medium to large precision engineering organisation
- Experience working to aerospace standards
