Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
General Maintenance Engineer required for a specialist manufacturer of automotive oils, lubricants and cleaners.
Due to continued success and growth, they are looking to recruit a General Maintenance Engineer to support the upkeep, repair and improvement of their production equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a range of mixing, filling and processing machinery, ensuring equipment remains operational and downtime is minimised. This is a hands-on workshop-based role, ideal for a mechanically minded engineer with experience in maintenance, fault finding and repair.
The role would suit someone who enjoys working with a variety of machinery and being involved in practical engineering solutions. The ideal candidate will have previous maintenance experience, a relevant engineering background and be based within commutable distance of Romford.
Position Overview
- Workshop-based role carrying out maintenance on a range of oil and lubricant production equipment
- Fault finding, repair and preventative maintenance of mixing machines, filling machines and large oil storage tanks
- Carry out mechanical maintenance to minimise production downtime
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across a variety of machinery
- Pump maintenance, servicing and repair
- Assist with installation, improvement and modification of equipment where required
- Carry out general site maintenance and support tasks
- Maintain a safe and organised working environment
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys practical engineering and learning how different machines operate
General Maintenance EngineerPosition Requirements
- Previous mechanical maintenance experience
- Strong fault finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience maintaining industrial machinery or production equipment
- Mechanical engineering background or relevant qualification desirable
- Experience with pumps, motors, machinery or processing equipment beneficial
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Salary dependent on experience
- Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:30
