Band 7 Highly Specialised Physiotherapist in Orthopaedics (Part time)

Site:
Queen’s Hospital, Romford.

Contract:

Permanent, hours part time – 28 hours per week. Job
-7542-CCS.

Salary: £40,134 – £45,286 per annum (inclusive). Closing date: 18/01/2026 23:59.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate the Physiotherapy service across both sites, ensuring delivery of high quality assessment, treatment and care within Orthopaedics.
  • Provide specialist assessment, treatment and advice to orthopaedic patients, facilitating and maximising patient potential within the service boundaries.
  • Guide and support multidisciplinary team (MDT) members on specialist orthopaedic matters.
  • Lead the Physiotherapy team in planning, delivering, evaluating and improving service quality, including participation in a 7‑day service.
  • Teach and support physiotherapy colleagues, including undergraduate physiotherapy training.
  • Develop and review policies, procedures and guidelines using evidence‑based practice and current research.
  • Deputise for senior colleagues as required.
Qualifications and Experience Education / Qualifications
  • Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy.
  • H.C.P.C. Registration as a Physiotherapist.
  • Evidence of recent and relevant CPD.
  • Membership of an appropriate specialist interest group.
  • Leadership training experience.
Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent organisational, prioritising and delegating skills.
  • Initiative and independent working ability.
  • Expertise in assessment and treatment of orthopaedic patients in line with current practice and research.
  • Ability to work effectively under stress and manage emotional or aggressive patients and carers.
  • Experience in quality evaluation, development and audit.
Experience / Knowledge
  • Extensive senior level clinical experience in Orthopaedics.
  • Broad clinical experience with cross‐service integration.
  • Experience training physiotherapy students on placements.
