Job Title: Hearing Aid Dispenser
Reporting to: Regional Manager
Location: Romford and Surrounding areas
Days: Weekdays only, No Weekends
Package: Circa £50,000 + Monthly Commission + Company Car
Job SummaryAs a domiciliary audiologist, you can help our most vulnerable patients with their hearing in the comfort of their homes. You will play a crucial role in providing audiological testing services to patients in the comfort of their homes. You will be trusted to make autonomous decisions and valued for your professional expertise. You'll have full support from our central teams including logistical and clinical support.
ClinicalResponsibilities
- Manage a daily schedule of adults with hearing loss.
- Conduct Pure Tone Audiometry including masking as required.
- Perform tests for non-organic hearing loss.
- Test for Noise Induced Hearing Loss.
- Take aural impressions and select appropriate ear moulds.
- Select, program and fit appropriate hearing instruments.
- Provide a full, structured, patient‑centric aftercare programme to ensure maximum satisfaction.
- Offer appropriate support for individuals with hearing loss.
- Use appropriate outcome measures, both subjective and objective, to ensure hearing instruments are providing maximum benefit and practice evidence‑based outcomes.
- Use Real Ear Measurement equipment to validate and verify hearing instrument fittings.
- Commit to lifelong learning to stay current with latest developments in Audiology.
- Maintain test equipment daily and arrange calibration as required.
- Provide ear care and wax removal where needed (training provided).
- Follow best practice principles for infection control in the workplace.
- Register with the HCPC as a Hearing Aid Dispenser (training provided).
- Reflect on own practice with peers and management to identify strengths and development needs.
- Responsible for own professional actions and recognise boundaries, seeking advice when necessary.
- Contribute to the clinical team and discuss client needs with others.
- Attend supervision and training to maintain skills, expand Scope of Practice and meet HCPC CPD requirements.
- Maintain CPD records acceptable to the HCPC.
- Understand principles of clinical governance and apply them to practice in Audiology.
- Ensure staff comply with all Infection Control Policies and Procedures.
- Ensure staff comply with Health and Safety and Risk Management Policies and Procedures.
- Effective and flexible communicator to multiple parties.
- Proficient use of digital systems with attention to detail.
- Confident driver with at least two years driving experience and ability to navigate multiple locations.
- Calm under pressure.
- Pragmatic problem‑solving approach.
- Organised and able to multitask.
- Work within own clinical knowledge and limitations.
- Basic salary up to £50,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
