Health Care Assistant – Nights (Residential / Nursing Care)

📍 Essex / East London area

💷 £20,000 – £36,000 per annum (depending on hours, experience and shift pattern)

A well‑established, purpose‑built residential and nursing care home specialising in care for older adults, including dementia support, is seeking experienced Night Health Care Assistants to join their friendly and supportive team.

This is an excellent opportunity for compassionate carers who enjoy making a meaningful difference in residents’ lives while working within a professional and well‑structured care environment.

• Supporting residents with personal care
  , including washing, dressing, toileting and personal hygiene
• Assisting with nutrition and hydration
  , including support with feeding where required
• Providing emotional support and companionship to residents during night shifts
• Monitoring residents’
  wellbeing, safety and comfort overnight
• Supporting residents with mobility and repositioning where required
• Participating in the development and implementation of individual care plans
• Observing and reporting any changes in residents’ physical or emotional health
• Contributing to a calm, safe and supportive night‑time environment within the home
• Previous experience working night shifts as a Health Care Assistant is essential
• Experience working within residential, nursing or dementia care settings
• A kind, patient and compassionate nature
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team during night shifts
• Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise workloads
• Proof of right to work in the UK
• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or working towards)
• Previous experience supporting older adults or individuals living with dementia
