As our Commercial Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining property services by delivering planned and reactive maintenance to an agreed programme, budget, and quality within the company’s operational targets.

• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance to all Plant Room Equipment as per maintenance schedules, assisting sub-contractors where necessary.
• Conduct plant inspections, diagnose faults, fit parts, and carry out repairs to mechanical systems such as pumps, valves, pipework etc.
• Demonstrate sound knowledge of heating and hot water system operation and control, with understanding of system design.
• Install replacement plant and components such as pumps, valves, pressure switches, automatic air vents etc., and pipework including safe isolation of systems, repairs and modifications. Perform repairs within communal areas to radiators, valves and pipework.
• Maintain and service communal ventilation systems.
• Operate and repair cold‑water booster systems.
• Identify faults and report issues in a timely manner. Consult suppliers to obtain replacement component costs and labour requirements, and submit these to the Mechanical Supervisor.
• Complete digital records PPMs and reactive repairs using Aston Group’s ACIMs software.
• Comply with safe working practices to ensure the safety of the workforce and public.
• Liaise with stakeholders to deliver high‑quality service and customer satisfaction.
• Meet agreed KPIs and service levels.
• Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external interactions.
• Attend toolbox talks.
• Follow the company’s Health and Safety Policy and safety systems of work.
• Perform call‑out duties on a scheduled out‑of‑hours rota as needed.
• Undertake other duties of a similar nature as required by management.
• Maintain, wash and service company vehicle, reporting any malfunctions.

Working hours will be Monday to Friday, 08:00 am to 17:00 pm; flexibility with working hours is essential as overtime may be required.

• ICPN1
• TPCP1A
• BMP1

• Commercial Mechanical Engineer experience in commercial and domestic premises.
• Appropriate industry qualifications.
• Significant mechanical/ commercial service experience.
• Plumbing pipework skills – copper, steel, pipe threading and mechanical pressing where required.
• Basic electrical skills.
• Understanding of heating, hot water and ventilation systems.
• Experience using and training others on PDA devices and company software.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Team player.
• Valid full clean driving licence.
