Position: Registered Veterinary Nurse — 40h, Maternity Cover, Flexible

At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Orchard Vets on a full-time basis.

Orchard Vets is a well-established veterinary practice located in the heart of Romsey. With a reputation for excellence and a commitment to providing high-quality care, we’ve been serving our community and their beloved pets for 35 years. We have also recently expanded, taking on further branches in Ashurst, Fair Oak and Bassett, reflecting the continued growth and success of the practice.

We are well equipped with a range of in-house facilities including dental radiography, laparoscopy, endoscopy, K-Laser, Vet Scan, Imagyst and cryotherapy. We also have a local IVC referral centre available to support more complex cases.

The role is primarily based at our Romsey practice; however, due to our recent expansion, there may be the occasional requirement to cover shifts at our Ashurst branch during periods of holiday or sickness.

Practice Highlights

  • Well-established practice with over 35 years of history in the local community
  • Recently expanded to include branches in Ashurst, Fair Oak and Bassett
  • Access to dental radiography, laparoscopy, endoscopy, K-Laser, Vet Scan, Imagyst and cryotherapy
  • Local IVC referral centre available for more complex cases
  • Supportive team of 7 Veterinary Surgeons, 7 RVNs, 2 SVNs, 1 ACA and 5 receptionists/administrators

You will be supported by our dedicated Practice Director and a friendly, experienced team committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

We actively encourage clinical freedom, case continuity and the development of your own interests, with full support from the wider team. As a practice, we have undertaken several quality improvement initiatives, such as reducing antibiotic usage and introducing in-house ear cytology, and we are always keen to explore our next project.
