Elementary Teacher

Overview

Summit Academy North is seeking a positive, creative and energetic Elementary Teacher to join our Summit Family. The Elementary Teacher will create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment to foster a love of learning in young students. The campus serves Preschool through 12th grade in Romulus, MI with a history of 25 years and over 1,600 students. We offer collaboration, shared leadership, and professional development, as well as before- and after-school activities including band, music and athletics.

• Develop and deliver engaging and developmentally appropriate lesson plans based on curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
• Develop assessments and monitor student performance using tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development.
• Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to support the school's mission.
• Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students.
• Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
• Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan with an endorsement in the grade level.
• Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.
