Renewable Energy Technician
Monitoring, Control and Compliance (MCC) is a privately‑owned small business in the solid waste industry. Founded by a former landfill gas technician in 2005, MCC began with two employees and now serves approximately 65 employees. The company specializes in the operation and maintenance of landfill gas systems that reduce methane emissions and generate renewable energy for clients.
Our focus is the operation and maintenance of landfill gas collection systems to ensure maximum efficiency and regulatory compliance.

- Provide operations and maintenance services for landfill gas collection systems to maintain maximum efficiency and compliance.
- Conduct routine on‑site monitoring, ensure compliance with deadlines and contractual requirements, troubleshoot, and diagnose system malfunctions.
- Work independently while communicating with supervisors and clients to ensure project success.
- Document daily activities, coordinate actions, and verify corrective measures to maintain continuous compliance.
- Follow all company and project safety policies, wearing required personal protective equipment (safety boots, vest, hearing protection, glasses, gloves, chemical protection and H₂S monitoring equipment).
- Maintain cleanliness of the company truck, all‑terrain vehicle, and all work areas.
- Be available for after‑hours call‑outs due to the nature of the collection systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s degree preferred).
- Proficient use of Windows and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and Adobe.
- Maintain daily logs and obtain readings according to prescribed standards.
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude, with safe use of hand tools.
- Detail‑oriented, organized self‑starter with initiative.
- Ability to operate all‑terrain vehicles in varying conditions.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem‑solving skills and adaptability to a variety of conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Pass pre‑employment, random drug screening, background check, and motor vehicle records check.
- Previous landfill gas system operation experience or education is a plus.
- Knowledge of environmental sampling techniques.
- Current OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification.
- Pipe fusion certificate.
- Knowledge of basic math, gas chemistry, piping, and instrumentation drawings.
- Background in electrical, chemical, and mechanical work.
- Ability to think on your feet while pushing physical limits.
- Work 100% outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Walk long distances on all terrain.
- Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
- Work outdoors year‑round in rugged terrain.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Use personal protective equipment (safety boots, glasses, vest, daily gas monitoring equipment).
- Travel overnight up to 30% of the time.
