. We are a family of greenhouse vegetable growers dedicated to delivering a Life of Pure Flavor™ to communities across North America.
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe operation and management of industrial equipment to load, unload, and move product and packaging from storage areas, machines, and loading docks. The primary function is to support the supply chain by loading trucks for outgoing product and accurately counting and documenting shipments.
Responsibilities- Operate forklifts and other hand truck activities to stage, count, sort, wrap finished product, and move shipments of product and packaging material.
- Examine shipment contents and compare them with records to verify accuracy and quality, then place shipments on designated trucks for delivery.
- Communicate frequently with Shipping Supervisors, reporting quality issues, damage, or shortages.
- Maintain a clean work area and remove empty or damaged pallets, wood, and plastic.
- Perform daily inspections of assigned forklift or other material handling equipment; report damages or mechanical issues to authorized personnel.
- Comply with SOPs, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Food Safety, Health and Safety, and company policies and procedures, ensuring consistent standard adherence.
- Carry out other core expectations as defined by the company.
- Secondary School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum two (2) years of forklift experience required;
Forklift Certification preferred. - Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety, and Food Safety preferred.
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently and in a team.
- Commitment to adhere to all security and safety procedures; excellent driving skills and good judgment.
- Proven ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with keen attention to detail and task‑related accuracy.
- Ability to remain focused for extended periods and react quickly in emergency situations.
- Proficient in English communication—oral, written, and reading—required.
- Steel‑toed shoes are required.
- Hours may vary depending on business needs; flexibility required.
- The position operates in a refrigerated warehouse where temperatures vary; noise levels can be loud due to packaging machinery and forklift operation.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, and handling of product or packaging; frequent reaching with hands and arms.
- Must be able to regularly lift 30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
